Abu Dhabi new municipality fees
The Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority has introduced two new fees.
Starting from the 1st of June 2016, the new fees will be included in your Abu Dhabi hotel bill.
They will be entitled :
- Municipality Fee
- Municipality Room Fee
What exactly are these fees, and how they are to be applied, is explained in the below announcement.

Greetings,
In pursuance of Law No. (2) of year 2011 for establishing Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority and Resolution the Executive Council No. (15) of year 2016 Concerning municipality fee on hotel stays in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, You are kindly requested to adhere to the following:
- Hotel establishments are required effectively from 01/06/2016 to collect and declare municipality fee and deposit the same in TCAs Abu Dhabi account, based on the following: 4% of the value of the guest’s invoices AED 15 per night for each room.
- Hotel establishments shall create a separate account in their financial records that distinguishes between tourism fee & municipality fee.
- Hotel establishments shall be able to distinguish between the tourism fee and the municipality fee 4% of the value of the guest’s invoice and AED 15 per night for each room, and service charge in all guest’s invoices and price menus. TCA Abu Dhabi will conduct introductory workshops about the process of collecting, declaring, and depositing the municipality’s fee, and you shall be notified about the date and venue of the workshops accordingly.
