Since 1st of May, souq.com redirects to amazon.ae .
It’s a step forward considering the additional variety of products in the middle east, at least when it comes to “amazon basics” products.
But it is also a step backwards since amazon’s policy to cut cost (and maximize profits) will definetly impact our shopping. And i will tell you more about that in the following article.
Just a couple of months back, i discovered (and shared) how to order from souq.com and deliver to Ruwais. Since the transition, of souq.com to amazon.ae, i was eager to try out their … delivery options.
So i made 3 orders, with sellected items that Shiped from and sold by Amazon.ae [Sold by: Q Tech General Trading LLC]
- May 5, 2019 Order# 405-6990196-7800312 – Free delivery – order was above 100 aed
Shipped with QExpress - Tracking ID QAA000812609
- May 10, 2019 Order# 403-0221122-1467528 – Next Day delivery
Shipped with QExpress - Tracking ID QAA001475362
- May 12, 2019 Order# 404-7251942-5569941 – Same Day delivery

As you can see, regardless of the shiping delivery option, and regardless of the region setting (for example: Al Dhafra), all amazon.ae packages get shipped with QExpress. And, as we all know, QExpress does NOT deliver to Ruwais.
There is no more WING courier. So, thank you amazon.ae… for cuting ties with the only courier that delivers to Ruwais, and for cuting ties with your Ruwais shoppers.
To double check the fact that there is no more WING courier, i contacted Amazon.ae Customer Service, and i received the following reply.
Maybe in time, amazon.ae will see that Ruwais area is worth to be on the QExpress service area. But for now… we’ll just have to go back to the previous online shopping solutions for Ruwais residents.
