Starting from 15th of November going to or returning from Abu Dhabi may take a bit more time, but you’ll probably also save some fuel in the process. This is due to a new speed limit that will take into force from mid of November.
The following announcement (poster) was shared on social media yesterday evening, but i did not take it seriously until i have received it, today, on my work email. I have also contacted the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ to confirm this. I have received a reply from Abu Dhabi Government Contact Center confirming the new speed limit.

The Vehicle Registration & Insurance center is located in the petrol station -> near the Al Ruwais industrial bridge. Yesterday morning, at around 1:30 AM, Ruwais was experiencing an uncommon and powerful storm. Incredible amounts of rain were poured onto our city. The intensity of the storm was generated by the wind that was blowing with a massive force in all directions – causing most of the light damages. The damage left behind will take some time to repair. But we are sure that by 2nd of December (National Day of UAE) everything will be and look fine.
As expected, the intense storm passed very quickly. This meteorological phenomenon is very unlikely to happen in this part of the world to begin with.
Today, the skies began to clear up. At the moment of writing there are no more hints that the storm would return.
